Live translator for couples

What you said.
What they actually heard.

ToneFlip is a tiny, playful translator for the things partners say but don't quite say. Flip a message, see the subtext.

It is, in fact, not fine — and I'd really love for you to notice without me having to spell it out.
oof. accurate.
How it works

Two ways to flip.

Use it on your own screen for a quick gut-check, or share a live link and decode messages with your partner — together.

01

Same screen

Just you. Paste anything you got, anything you wrote, or anything you're about to send.

  • Pick which side you are (Him or Her)
  • Type the message you want to flip
  • See the reframe in your chosen mode
02

Share with partner

Send a live link. You join as Him, they join as Her (or the other way around). Flips happen in real time.

  • Generate a one-time session link
  • Share it on WhatsApp or anywhere
  • Chat ephemerally — link expires on exit
Six flavors of flip

Choose your vibe.

Same message, six different lenses. Pick the one that fits the moment — gentle on a Tuesday, savage on a Friday.

🌿

Gentle

It's okay, I'm a bit tired and could really use a hug.
🔥

Savage

Cool, cool — I'll just emotionally improvise. As one does.
🧠

Therapist

There's some unmet need under this — likely around feeling seen.

Emoji Version

I'm 😶‍🌫️ but ✨fine✨ — pls notice 👀
💡

Make It Clearer

I'm hurt and I want you to ask me what's wrong.

Make It Shorter

Translation: not fine.
Privacy by design

What's said here, stays nowhere.

Couple stuff is private. ToneFlip is built so that nothing about your conversation lives past it.

Nothing stored

No accounts, no database of messages, no logs of what was flipped. We don't keep it because we don't need it.

Sessions vanish

When your partner leaves the chat, the session is gone. There's no "resume" — and that's the point.

One-time links

Session links are single-use and bound to the live tab. Close it, and the link is a dead end.

a fresh slate, every time you open it.
Speaks your language

Subtext, in any tongue.

Pick a language when you start a session. ToneFlip replies in the same one — picking up on idioms, sarcasm, and the local flavor of "fine."

Common questions

Things people ask.

Do you really not store the conversations?
Really. There's no database of your messages, no log of what was flipped, no analytics dump that includes your text. Messages live in memory for the duration of your session and are gone when you close the tab or your partner leaves.
Can I come back to an old conversation?
Nope — and that's intentional. ToneFlip is meant for in-the-moment decoding, not archiving. Once a session ends, it's gone. Start fresh every time.
How does the remote partner mode work?
Tap "Share with partner" to generate a one-time link. You stay as Him (or Her), and whoever opens the link joins as the opposite side. You both type, both see the flips. When either of you closes the tab, the session is over.
Is this serious couples therapy?
Absolutely not. ToneFlip is a playful tool for noticing tone and subtext — somewhere between a party trick and a gentle nudge. For real relationship work, see a real therapist.
Why the Him / Her framing?
It's how the running joke goes — but the directions are just labels for "this side → that side". The translator is about this specific message's tone, not gender essentialism. We never generalize about men or women.
Is it free?
Yes, for now. There are no accounts and no paid tiers. If usage scales we may add a generous free tier with a coffee-money option to keep the lights on.
